I have last week just bought myself a brand new optical mouse from ebay. It was brand new still in the packaging. It was i believe fine at first but then after a few hours of using it i have seem to come into some problems, more so that it seems to have developed a life of its own as when i am scrolling around a page it decides to shoot off in its own direction. It usually seems to be drawn to the bottom left or right corners of the screen. I have tried it in both the USB slot and the PS2 slot with the same problems in both.

Like i say it was brand new and it came with no software to install it was plug and play.

Is there anything i can do to sort this problem as i like the design of the mouse very much.

    Thanks
    Anthony

I would check control panel, system, hardware, device manager, first to see if there are any errors. Right click on the mouse for properties.
You may need to find a driver.
