It's pretty good on Windows as well. I have a feeling that Opera ASA could do well with this in the future across several platforms. Is there a Linux version yet?

Wish Opera was the fastest Windows browser ! Once perhaps was, but now Chrome - that tried on my pc but I don't use - it's faster.

I find that Maxthon, Opera 17 & Chrome are all about the same speed on my (Vista) laptop. Mx seems the snappiest, but there isn't really much in it.

From my not so expert and admittedly short experience, I've determined that the overhauled Opera is a decent choice. Whether it is a "5 star" browser or not is subject to opinion, but I'm sure consumers could do worse. I will say I enjoyed its previous existence before the Presto change and all, whether webmasters cared or not. But, at least the company hasn't vanished, leaving consumers with one less choice :)

Not anymore, don't think so. Even Firefox seems to be faster. I bet if there's a benchmarking test Chrome will be below IE and Firefox. Can't say about Opera since I haven't use it since a long time ago. Not going to be surprised if Opera is above Chrome too.

So the clone with least functions is considered the best?

Any idea whether editing site preferences (Quick Prefs/Edit Site Preference) is back? If, just like bookmarks, it's not, it's still a flawed job in my book.

Yeah, your guess is as good as mine. I don't think that bookmarks are a priority for them.

I still say that when they finally finish the new Opera properly it will be popular. I already prefer it to Chrome. A working bookmarking toolbar, bookmarks & perhaps a few other things back & I'd use it.

Have you tried the latest Opera 19 Dev build?

Opera 17 already has a bookmark bar (Quick Access Bar). Opera 19 improves it greatly.

Any advice on how to get the up/down, left/right keys to work while on Google Street View? I can navigate with the cursor, but can't get it to work with those keys. This using Opera 17.

    It's just another Chromium knockoff.

In the new developer version they have renamed QAB to Bookmarks Bar - unbelievable.

I liked it from the beginning. Mind you, that did surprise me. If they eventually get it right it could be huge.

Maybe, but I think it has the potential to be a real winner ... eventually. I think it could very well be superior to Chromium or Chrome.

This is on v17 now?

EDIT: I can't find any bookmarking toolbar.

    Go to: opera://flags
Search for "Quick access bar" and enable it.

Ah don't say that no one can like not to have a bookmarks bar or similar. Yeah I am surprised you even said that :D Let's hope it grows in popularity yes :thumb:
