That was an extremely quick snapshot to final phase. So what is new here? Your link just goes to the general info/download page and the "improvements list" link on that page take you to information about 12.10.

Sorry, I think that for Windows it's mainly bug fixes.

LOL! I doubt that they will ever fix that. It seems very snappy though.

One word on this latest version - BUGGY.

This thing crashes 5-6 times a day, has a raging memory leak that drags browsing speed down after a bit, and seems to have some scrolling issues that don't make much sense. I think I am done with Opera for awhile, they fix stuff, then break it. Vicious cycle.

:D I persevere, because I only use Opera as my browser, and IE if needed.

I made a fresh install of 12.13 on my notebook. I don't use many extensions but I think that some are more buggy than others. My guess is that a dodgy extension is more likely to be the cause of repeated crashes than anything else.

Likewise here, Bigc.. In fact, at the moment it's the only browser I don't have issues with.. :)

EXACTLY.. I was going to post this but figured people would say it was an extension, even though I don't run any extensions.

Opera 12.13 locks up on Ebay, has serious scroll issues, and has some odd memory leak that can drag everything down pretty badly. I noted the 50%+ CPU usage across cores when I hit Ebay and start working on it.. Unacceptable. Ebay isn't the only site, I found several others that can cause Opera to hit 50% CPU and spiral down into crash-city. I don't have much confidence left in these clowns.

Checking the forums, 12.13 is a buggy inexcusable mess.. <sigh>

The most crashes in the latest build is caused by the new automatic update check that is quite buggy. So disable it in settings and don't check updates manually until next stability update. I think 12.14 must be just around the corner.

I'm not saying that you're wrong about this, but do you have any info on this 'update check' problem?

I been chatting over Opera IRC channel and a few other folks confirmed that disabling update check solved crashes for them. However I want to point out that this build 12.13 is decently buggy so what caused crashes in my case needn't be the case for others. Quite interesting discussion goes on Opera Desktopteam Blog.

This wouldn't impact serious page loading issues, like Ebay though.. It may correct the random crashes, but surely not page specific ones, right? Also the 50%+ CPU load issue probably isn't that.

I cannot believe they didn't test this stuff longer.

Me either, this release was entirely rushed out the door for reasons I don't know of. From first snapshot to final was a blink of the eye, and usage over the last day is showing the results of that.

I expected 12.13 beta, to go into 12.14 and then 12.15 for the final.. I mean it was clear 12.13 was headed the right away, but needed much more testing. It is illogical that they rushed it out. 12.13 did bring speed improvements, maybe they wanted those speed tweaks out there as quick as possible?

So far, Opera-Next is still on the buggy as hell 12.13, so don't bother trying that one either. <sigh>

Apart from having to make a clean install of 12.13 on my notebook ( ) I haven't had any problems with my other two computers. I'd hardly describe 12.13 with the hyperbole of 'buggy as hell'. The clean install seems fine so far & I've been using it a lot. Touch wood ...
