How can I open and create .7z files via Ubuntu,s default Archive manager. I was able to do so for rar files by this command.

    sudo apt-get install rar unrar

Is there such a command for 7z files?

    Thanks

Yes. There are 3 choices in the repos. I have p7zip-full. It has always worked well from the context menu (although I do not open those files too often).
