Major accounting firm EY has just dropped some epic details of a new blockchain prototype that can make Ethereum (ETH) transactions private – as in real ones, on the main public blockchain.

EY calls its new system the EY Ops Chain Public Edition (PE), touting it as the world’s first implementation of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology on the public Ethereum blockchain.

ZKP is a method of validating data. Put simply, ZKP allows blockchains to confirm transactions without having to reveal information related to those transactions, which makes them secure as no sensitive data is actually exchanged.

The press release mentions, though, that the prototype comes with a special kind of private transaction monitor, that captures transaction history for later review.

According to the Times, the twins hired an investigator who determined that their bitcoins were transferred onto wallets at the Xapo and Coinbase exchanges belonging to Shrem, and have additionally secured a court order imposing a freeze on those accounts.

A widespread scam pretending to be from Elon Musk and utilizing a stream of hacked Twitter accounts and fake giveaway sites has earned scammers over 28 bitcoins or approximately $180,000 in a single day.

This scam is being pulled off by attackers hacking into verified Twitter accounts and then changing the profile name to "Elon Musk". They then tweet out that he, being Elon, is creating the biggest crypto-giveaway of 10,000 bitcoins.
Even worse, these posts are being promoted through Twitter advertising in order to give them wider visibility and to add legitimacy.

The sickening part is that in a single day, these scammers have received 392 transactions to the bitcoin address [...] for a total of 28 bitcoins or approximately $180,000 USD.

The finance commission in France’s lower house of parliament backed plans on Wednesday to ease tax on bitcoin sales, bringing it in line with other capital gains tax.

Currently bitcoin gains are taxed at a rate of 36.2 percent while other forms of capital gains on other non-real estate assets are taxed at a flat 30 percent.
The finance commission adopted an amendment to the 2019 budget bill that would subject sales of crypto-assets like bitcoin to the 30-percent flat rate as well.

A group of Brazilian EOS developers, called EOS RIO, has warned users someone is trying to spread a fake version of its cryptocurrency wallet app on Google Play.

While the app poses as the real thing (and claims to have been developed by “EOSRIO”), EOS RIO has issued a statement to clarify that its official app is yet to make its way to the Play store.

Blockchain company Pure Bit has seemingly walked off with $2.7 million worth of investors’ money after raising 13,000 Ethereum in an ICO.
Victims report Pure Bit has already deleted its social media accounts; it has also kicked out all users from its dedicated KakaoTalk chat group.

Pure Bit was also running an affiliate campaign that rewarded users with extra tokens any time they brought new investors; the minimum amount to enter the token sale was approximately $1,000 (5 ETH).

This is the latest in a string of exit scams that took place in the blockchain space in 2018. Indeed, reports suggested exit scammers have thieved more than $100 million worth of cryptocurrency over the last two years alone.

Colorado State Securities Commissioner Gerald Rome has issued a cease and desist order to four Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) for allegedly offering unregistered securities, according to an official notice published Nov. 8.

The orders come as part of a state operation by the “ICO Task Force” within the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), which in May of this year commenced investigations into potentially unlawful activity targeting cryptocurrency investors.
