I have just installed Online Armor 4.x Free on one of my Home PC's.

Please list "typical" programs that you would always run with Run Safer. I am sure that the most common ones would be firefox.exe & iexplore.exe.

Since I always use Sandboxie (for web surfing) with the "Drop Rights" feature enabled, is it not necessary to use Run Safer on programs that will run in the Sandbox? Would there be any problems with using Run Safer for these programs?

    Thanks in Advance.

Here's what I have in Run Safer at the moment.

    Thunderbird
    Firefox + Crash reporter
DivX media player + all other entries, etc
All Macromedia flash bits and pieces
    Foxit Reader
    Flv media player
    Internet Explorer
    All Widows Media Player entries/objects
Windows Live Mail + RSS feeds synchronization
    Windows Live Messenger
    Opera
    All Quicktime bits and pieces
    WinRar
    Skype
    WinAmp
Yahoo Messenger + all its other components.

These all work in Run Safer state, for me.

You might find that Internet Explorer needs to be given full rights when you use Windows Update - probably a good idea to remove from Run Safer status when updating - just incase.

I believe the "Run Safer" (RS) option is essentially the same as "Drop Rights" (DR) so you wouldn't gain anything by using RS. I don't know that you would lose anything either :D To be safe though I wouldn't run both - I would switch to RS since it's integrated into the Online Armor GUI.

Is cscript and wscript in your program list so you can set to Run Safer?

Is there a way to add programs to the program list?

Is there a default list of Windows programs that are Run Safer by OA?

It's not in my list, but you can easily add it.
Just right click at the "Programs" window and choose "Add".
Drag and drop from Explorer to OAs Programs should also work.

If you choose RunSafer for these system apps, some legit scripts may not work correctly, like with an limited user account. But that's an individual decision.

No, but you could or should add apps with Internet access and apps which open downloaded/untrusted files, like...

Browsers (z.B. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera)
Mail clients (Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird...)
Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point...)
Instant Messengers (Windows Messenger, ICQ, Skype...)
    Peer-to-peer clients (Azureus/Vuze, eMule, μTorrent...)
    Picture viewer (IrfanView, ACDSee, Picasa...)
PDF viewer (Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader, PDF-XChange Viewer...)
Media Player (WM Player, VLC, Winamp...)

And of course it's recommended to choose RunSafer to start unknown or suspicious programs at first launch.

Thank you subset for the link and the explanation.

I learned more from your explanation than I did by visiting the link you gave.
Unfortunately, the video is not updated or go into any extra detail and the page you
linked is just features and benefeits, no tutorial on all functionality.

I googled "online armour run safer configure"; just got a lot of unconnected jibberish.

Can I add COM+ to Run Safer without complications?

Is/will run safer is/be required in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit? The feature was designed due to users running in admin mode all the time.

User can set various levels of warning about exe's attempting to run as well as setting these www facing applications so they cannot access the www. As well we have the virutal PC feature....
