    Hi

I know that there are different kinds of rootkits working with different ways, but i still have an important question for me but a simple one for rootkit experts.

Is it essential for a rootkit to install a service or driver to do it's work?

    or in other words ....

If i can grant that neither services nor drivers can be installed on my machine without my permission, does this mean that no rootkit can be installed too?

    thanx

There are ring-3 rootkits ITW - they don't need install driver.
