I have come across a large quantity of older (pre-2002) viruses, not all of which NOD32 detects. I know that Eset concentrate on a high quality database, rather than high quantity. If I email the details of the samples to samples@eset.com will it be read or is that email address just automatically processed for attachments?

You should submitt to that address the samples, and after analyzing them hopefuly ESET will add them.

Most of the time I just scan files at
    jotti's malware scan
    and/or
    VirusTotal
Since all uploaded samples are also automatically submitted to malware companies.

But those times I've submitted samples (using the address you mentioned), I've gotten a manually written answer back.
