old drive capacity still

    Win 98SE on HP Notebook N3190

    I upgraded to a new hard drive. The entire procedure went as planned with out a hitch untill I booted up my laptop with the new drive.
    It did not detect the new hard drive Capacity. It had my old drive gig figures still. I went into Bios but bios would not let me configure any hard drive settings. Should I flash the bios. I still have my flash boot disk from last year. The new drive went in as the Master. Everything else works fine.

    How big is the new hard drive? What does the bios recognise as the capacity?
