1-2 months after version 8 of EAM was released. Also Fabian said it is in internal testing now.

It should be minor update then.

Well, at least according to the change list there will be no big/important/notable changes, at least not for me. :D

There are pretty large changes actually. Asynchronous connection handling for example.

Just to be sure, there is no plan in joining OA with EAM into a single program, right? Thank you.

I believe that OA will continue to be offered as a separate entity for those who do not require the security pack or future security suite.

I hope so. Otherwise I'm going to have a hard time to find a perfect replacement. :doubt:

Perfect replacement would be the coming EIS, no? :D

I don't want an AV, although I can just disable it but... man, 200MB is just too huge. OA standalone is only ~30MB.

In theory, yes, but though I have a license, EAM since version 8 has been problematic on my system. So, having the option of just using OA, for those of us in such a situation, may be the best alternative.

There are also other details regarding the behavior blocker and/or HIPS modules for the future projects which are (as yet) to be ironed out.

I was more thinking that you get "the best of both worlds" so to speak, but I understand why you don't want to, sure.

Yeah sure, I didn't mean that they should ditch the standalone OA as many like it very much, to use with an AV of their choice etc etc...:thumb:

If the new version has any noticeable improvements in the malware-blocking department, I may start using it again with AppGuard.

Anyone know if the new version fixes the white-listing (or rather not white-listing) issue with Microsoft signed files some (including me) are getting on win 8 x 64? Turned a reasonably quiet HIPS into a bit of a pop-up fest for the first few hours of use. I'm sure they said it would be resolved in the next build but when its 6 months between releases it can seem a long time.

Also will it bring the native x64 architecture originally proposed for version 6?

    Thanks

will we see OA on matousec again?
there was a problem between tallemu and matousec, then they removed OA from matousec list about 3 years ago.
