MobiSystems, ok, don't like this company, they are also present on android store with several apps and their prices are not well-formed versus competitors.

Did you check it out, and if so is it better or perhaps comparable to WPS Office?

I think I'll stick with LibreOffice for the time being. It does what it's supposed to do and it's free.

for my money, no other office suite comes close to mso. there's always something missing. be it compatibility issues, rendering issues or missing tools etc.

Agreed. If I wanted a paid office suite, it would definitely be MS Office. When it comes to free office suites, LibreOffice is a good choice, but there will always be compatibility and rendering issues.

There is a free version of WPS Office and various other free office suites. So unless there are some features missing from free office suites that this offers, you'd probably be better off sticking to free office suites.

WPS known before as Kingsoft Office has trash talk with its home, but it's the only office which can use VB-Script (VBS) if installed. VBS is really nice but then I would prefer the original. I have dropped VBS 10 years ago with Softmaker Office (paid).

I agree with you here. But if I'm being honest, I do miss the all-in-one interface of WPS Office. Also, Softmaker Office cannot edit pdfs, as WPS can.

Thanks, I didn't even notice that OfficeSuite wasn't freeware. In all honesty, I almost never use Office software, but I do sometimes install this stuff for other people.

OK thanks, the GUI doesn't look that bad.

I tried pdf printing editing when testing OpenOffice - was awful. Time when I switched to a decent pdf editor. Starting with Foxit v1 and ended with "Master PDF Editor" (now). For pdf in general I use "PDF-XChange Viewer", I don't like their editor. But that's only my personal feeling.

The only office productivity suite I consider as a viable alternative to Microsoft Office is Softmaker Office/Ashampoo Office. They're even compatible with scientific referencing tools in the latest version. I've used Softmaker/Ashampoo over the years in a number of projects with good success.

SoftMaker Office 2021 also offers a 64-bit version: https://www.softmaker.net/down/ofw2021_64.msi (if this is what you're looking for, I'm not sure)
