Of Java applets and cache sizes.

Hello,
trying to solve a problem with Java. When I play chess on yahoo-which uses java applets- the cache fills up very quickly, that is to say, after joining 10 tables or so, I am unable to continue playing because the page will no longer load and I'm forced to shut down Firefox and clear the cache before I can log back in to play like normal. The cache size, however, I set to 600MB in FFox.


So.......are these applets just enormous? Is there something else I've overlooked?

That just goes a little over my head. It doesnt seem to address my question directly and Im not familiar with java enough to understand the implications. THanks for searching though.
