Any idea how O&O compares to Diskeeper Lite? I plan to try it after my trial version of PerfectDisk expires. I have difficulty making objective comparisons on certain types of utilities, but do love the testing process.

    Thanks for the headsup,

    Slim

    Appreciate the feedback.

I have used the freeware edition of Diskeeper & it does a very fine job. I only have one minor complaint which is a bit petty - fairness dictates that the standards for freeware be somewhat looser than a purchased product. It would be nice if the DK service terminated when you closed the program but have no problem doing this myself - the DK freeware edition has several attributes of the shareware edition & does a very thorough job in defragging your HD. I think the service defaults to Automatic when installing which is unnecessary since the scheduling function is disabled (info for those users interested in using this product for the first time). Just reset the service to manual. After the defrag, you can either kill the DK service manually or reboot. My recommendation is to reboot & start fresh - if rebooting is too much trouble for you - think LINUX.

I still want to test O&O Free - still looking for that better mousetrap.

Thanks again - free advice from knowledgeable users is like biscuits on gravy for this Georgia cracker.

    It have scheduler?

Do you think that is better than Diskeeper Free in resources and speed?

    Thanks
