I've just updated two PCs today. One on Windows 8.1, the other one 7. Issue present on both machines. Weird. Create a new file on my desktop, then I paste or type any content, click save and it pops up: Editing an already created txt file before v7.4 no problems at all though. Edit: The program can actually create new files and save content from within the program itself. Not so if I create a new txt document using right-click menu.
Maybe some security app is blocking it from creating of new files. I tried it and the creation of a new file was successfull (64-bit) v7.4 is working fine
Tried creating new file from within notepad++ and it works. It can create it and it's able to edit. As expected. It fails creating a new txt document using right-click shell.
It has been fixed. You can wait for the final release or you can replace the binary with a fixed version:
i tried that at first, i had some portables put there without any trouble, since windows 7. notepad and xyplorer needed admin rights, omg. but you dont image how many people will trash their system with abusing rights to get portables working outside user folder. @Mister X - wasting smilies made if not clearer - you wrote nothing so i assumed due missing informations. but well, it seems to be solved now for you.
