    Thinking about trying NOD32.

I use a local proxy (Proxomitron) for HTTP. Do I have to have this enabled (127.0.0.1 8080) in NOD32 options if I want to be successful in downloading updates? Ideally I would like to continue to use proxy for HTTP but not use a proxy for NOD32 updates.

By default ESET NOD32 is set to use "Global Proxy Settings". If this does not work for you, go into the advanced setup window (F5 key) and then select Update from the setup tree on the left. Then click on the "Setup" button next to "Advanced update setup". Then select the HTTP Proxy tab and make the necessary changes there.
