    Firefox 57-59 & Noscript 10 usage guide - 2nd edition

    No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, there's Noscript. 2 Unlimited sang this back in the early 90s. And now, I've compiled the second guide on how to manage and use Noscript Security Suite 10, the new WebExtension for Firefox 57 (Quantum) and higher, including new looks and capabilities, separate temporarily allow functionality, domain granularity control, better XSS, configuration import and export, other settings and features, and more. Enjoy.

    Bo, I think I have some issues with NoScript. I've updated it but I cannot revoke Temporary permissions.

    Hi Zmechy, if you have a backup copy of your settings, Import it. Or, you might need to Reset settings. But remember, if you Reset settings, your white list and black list will be gone.

    If you don't have a copy of your settings but you have NoScript installed in another computer, I can tell you how to copy the settings in that computer and transfer them to the PC with the problem or do the Export Import procedure.

    'Disable restrictions for this tab' allows all scripts from every domain, including the ones in your black list to run. Basically, it works the same as disabling NoScript completely but only applies to that tab. 'Set all on this page to Temporary Trusted' works the same as before, all scripts run but the ones you black listed. You might have to click Temporary more than once for the page to work as scripts cascade as you allow some to run.

    Hmm... okay. 'Disable restrictions for this tab' completely disables NoScript only for that tab.
    So, 'Disable restrictions for this tab' is not
    2749.png
    Yeah, may have to click Temporary more than once. No Cascade with 10.

    Thank you, Bo.

    I've done the "reset" and it worked.
    I have a saved list with all my Firefox add-ons. It takes some time to re-install it.
    I think I've started having problems by following "too strict" rules of "How to secure your Firefox".

    Glad to help, Zmechys. You should do backups of your NoScript settings once in a while. Just click Export to save a copy.

    A couple of beta versions have been released, changes in the betas open up the possibility for us to customize the NoScript pop up Menu to our liking. I made some changes and afterward I find the Menu more usable. I think this is a good change.

    v 10.1.8.2rc2
    =============================================================
    + More discoverable toolbar customization UI
    x Fixed hidden buttons being persisted in reversed order
    x Fixed buttons in the "hide area" still responsive to clicks

    v 10.1.8.2rc1
    =============================================================
    + Popup toolbar buttons fully configurable via Drag'n'Drop
    https://noscript.net/getit#devel

    Here is the regular standard menu.

    Original.jpg

    We drag out the buttons that clutter the Menu to hide them, and move the position of the ones we leave.

    Drag.jpg

    Here is what I did with mine. I moved temporarily allow to the extreme right, in my head that's where it should be.

    I'm guessing that it's still not possible to globally allow all scripts and to block only certain scripts per site?

    Hi Rasheed, unfortunately, "Allow scripts globally" as we used to know it is not gonna make a come back. I only used to use that setting once in a while but even so I think its unfortunate that the setting has been deprecated.

    Now instead we have a "Disable restrictions globally" and "Disable restrictions for this tab" settings. For me personally, this new settings dont work as well as everything runs when you enable those settings, while with the old setting, Untrusted/Blacklisted domains would not be allowed to run (when you enabled Allow scripts globally).
