If you manually run LiveUpdate and reboot, do they update to 19.1.1.3?

It did for one of my computers. The two others just says the software is up-to-date when looking for a new version and after pushing the live-update button. I don't understand why not all clients are updated.

What language are your Norton products?

Have you rebooted the two computers anyway? It could be that the update was downloaded already and is waiting for a reboot. I have read before about users not being prompted to reboot when it should have prompted.

Both of my machines updated. No prompt to reboot. As a mater of fact, no indication of this update being installed at all. I didn't know about it until I saw it at the Norton forums and checked my version and saw I had it already.

I have found the cause of the problems. Only the client with English has been updated. The ones with Swedish languages are not updated. Anyone have an idea of how long time it usually takes until all languages are updated? Perhaps I should install NIS 2012 English version on all computers...

I ran Prevx 3 along side NIS 2011 for a while. There was no obviously incompatibility, but I noticed a big increase in disk activity - they both do a lot of background scanning/verifying. I would try it and see if that's an issue in your case. The larger issue with Prevx 3 is it's losing compatibility with the latest browsers (well, SafeOnline). Hopefully the next version is coming to a theater near us soon

As Victek mentioned, they both do idle time scans. Personally, I would just pick one or the other. Both is overkill.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Already the second time this happens to me - use since the 7th of September.

The 2011 version of Norton for me was much more stable.

The disabled buttons? Can't say I have seen that before. I assume you have tried to reinstall?

Yes, the problems on the buttons. Honestly, I see better what it is. I hope someone can say something about it.

    Anything I try to reinstall.

It has been reported by several users on the Norton forums.

Really a shame. I think I'll wait for the next version of Norton. :(

I believe that happens when Norton has detected a threat and requires a reboot to remove it, but you have not rebooted yet. If it allowed you to disable the real-time protection before the reboot then the threat would "escape".

Good Evening ! Just re-installed Prevx, everything seems to be running harmoniously. Can't believe how responsive N.I.S. is and the feature set in the product, very impressed so far. Gentlemen thanks for your feedback ! Sincerely...Securon

Without any kind of infection. Using the administrator account.

This is the second time this has happened (I see what happens, actually).

Webroot Secure Anywhere latest beta works and NIS 2012 co-exist so well! I'm astonished!

Does anyone face system shutdown issues with NIS 2012? A few times I could not power off my laptop. I had to do it manually. I noticed that this happened every time I interacted with norton plugins in google chrome (one time norton plugin crashed and on another I declined identity safe prompt to set it up) in a standard user account. I have used chrome alternative installer to install chrome for all users.

What OS are you running? I was having occasional shutdowm problems with NIS 2011 on Windows 7 x64. So far I haven't been having a problem with NIS 2012. Try opening the task manager before issuing the shutdown command so you can monitor what's happening. You may be able to kill the process that's holding things up as well.

My OS is vista 32 bit. This shutdown problem does not happen every time. It is not practical to observe task manager before every shutdown. I will wait a few more months so that the 2012 version stabilizes and I will install again as I have a subscription for NIS.
