Based on what I am seeing on the Norton forums it currently looks like the 2013 version.

Are you thinking of trying the beta?

Of course, but what is under the covers? Are you going to try the beta and find out? :) I won't be for the moment, but I'm curious. The 2009 version was a revolution and I was won over for a few years, but the 2011/12/13 versions have not improved much IMHO and I feel other products have moved ahead.

I will definitely be loading it in a virtual machine. I already registered for the download.

-Ok I have it installed. Mostly the same appearance as 2013. The animations are different. Mostly the look and feel of the 2013 version. Which is ok. Not much time beyond a first impression to give it any kind of review right now. Maybe later if someone else doesn't get it done first.

I hope they dont put in features for the sake of new versions. Which will just make it bloated and go back to the old days of Norton.

Glad to hear you got it installed OK. I seem to remember trying to install a previous version - maybe 2011 or 2012 - and it wouldn't run in an XP VM. I'll be interested to hear what you think after you've had time to go through it.

I think they have stopped putting in New features just for the sake of doing so. However, many other vendors continue to do so

I won't see it again until I'm at work tomorrow. It seemed ok for the time I have spent with it so far. It failed to update the first time I tried but I am not too worried about that as we have pretty low bandwidth at work. It was stable for the little bit of usage I gave it but I will put some more time into it tomorrow and post back with more info.
