I booted fine & no on websafe, pretty fast boot, so far this is the best I have seen, sorry if your have issues, it maybe they are trying too hard to make an easy install, lighter than ever & so feature packed. I like it but I'm still an AV+ firewall + antimalware type of user...

    hi larry,
acually turns out i didnt have the lastest beta. testing the lastest beta atm.
the norton insight scan process white listing is definatly faster in this build.
seem to have to click refresh every do often so it can continue.
still cannot reboot on vista home premium 32bit SP1

New build is out (build 106), they gave the interface a make-over. It's looking much better now.

It will probably be available as an add-on again.

My apologies. I misinterpreted larryb52's post. I've never tested NIS 2009, so I wasn't sure.

no it's in there now, just not fully worked in yet, I guess tool bar wise... I'm really pleased to see this already there & still get very little cpu use or ram used, performance on my machine is not affected at all by running it...

You don't have to apologize, actually it could be me who's wrong. I've only tested NIS 2009 on XP, which have Outlook Express, not Windows Mail, as Vista have. So I'm not sure it'll support Windows Mail, but I would be very surprised if it doesen't ;) . Hell I'm running Outlook 2007, so I really don't care about it supporting Windows Mail or not :D

    Cheers

Doesn't Windows Mail use a proprietary Microsoft technology to fetch emails? I believe it's called DeltaSync, though I could be wrong. If that's the case, Symantec probably won't support it.

    Same old Symantec screw up!!

When I downloaded the beta it said it was good until Sept 23rd. When I activated with the key they sent me, it says good for 14 days!!

It needs a Spam filter for Outlook. It runs a faster than the old versions, but still bloats my system. With all registry entries it takes over 250 mb of space.

It is now off of my system. Back to Online Armor.

You have to download a new build every two weeks. That ensures everyone who beta test has the latest build.

14 days is the default license date between builds, if you run out of days it just restarts the days to 14 again & it runs a lot faster no system impact and unless you only have a small HD what's 250mb? if it were 40gigs I'd agree. Just my 2 cents...

    hey larryb52,
    is that auto login?
i dont know how you can get that boot time with vista.
when you say to desktop do you mean desktop showing or desktop fully loaded and useable with sidebar and all programs in sys tray? the first i can understand
it gets stuck at the windows loading bar just goes around and around.

I've got the latest NIS beta running, and the only problem I have run into is a warning about Phishing Health. When I click on Fix, I get the fix failed message. According to the people at the Norton Beta Forum, this is a known bug with build 106. It's supposed to be fixed with the next build. It seems to come and go on my computer. Other than that, I really like this new NIS.

On my computer it is the same running Vista Home premium. From power on button to usable desktop is no more than two minutes, 2 1/2 tops I have not had Vista load slow on either of my Vista computers.
