A new desktop environment is here! My latest OCS-Mag article explores Nomad, a Qt5 product designed for the Nitrux distribution, built on top of Ubuntu and Plasma. We examine the aesthetic and functional implications, the software stack, good stuff, bad stuff, bugs, insects, arachnids, and more. Have fun. http://www.ocsmag.com/2017/06/29/nomad-desktop-youll-never-walk-alone/ Cheers, Mrk
The Panther Application Launcher is available for GTK 3+ works in all environments from GNOME to XFCE. Its a port of the Slingshot Launcher introduced in Elementary OS. It happens a similar launcher called Simple Menu Launcher is now available for KDE. The bad news is its available only for Plasma 5.95 onwards. Here is a screenshot: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/plasma-simple-menu-widgets.jpg Lovely jubbly, things like this make KDE a breeze to run!
