    Hi

Just gone into Safe Mode as a result of an enquiry on the Acronis forum.

Whilst in Safe Mode I thought I'd have a little play (don't get to venture there much ;) )

Oddly, I couldn't open NOD - error stating ' couldn't communicate with NOD32 Kernel Service'.

Any reason for this anyone ?

Could start my malware scanners, SUPERAntispware and A2 free. However, back up AV, Bit Defender, wouldn't load ito the system tray either.

    Any thoughts welcome.

Safe Mode will only load a minimal set of services and drivers on your sytem, as it is a diagnostic mode for Windows. The NOD32 Kernel Service does not start in safe mode, so the Control Center will not launch while you are in there. The On-Demand Scaner (nod32.exe) will run in Safe Mode and can perform a full scan and clean while in safe-mode.

    Hope that answers your questions.

Only the on-demand scanner works in safe mode.

Nice and simple answer to that one then. Must go to Safe Mode more often :)

    Thanks for your help.
