    Good morning,
    I am a dealer and I'm using Nod32 v4.0.314.0 on windows vista 32bit sp1.
in all the menus I have enabled the scanning of files with the extensions by default, but looking at the "statistics", I see that continuing to check each file type, even on folders that do not touch for months. example, opening firefox, when I noticed that a film was scanned into "c: \ video \ [name of movie]. avi."

    ps. Sorry for my english.

It must be that either the system or an application accesses these files. ESET itself does not scan files on the disk randomly.

I think it is the fault of "searchprotocolhost.exe" in windows vista, is no way to exclude your search?

Try disabling the Windows Search service per the instructions here.
