Does disabling web access protection make a difference?

There are a few things you can try . Example : exclude your music player programs (e.g. exclude the Windows Media Player exe file from being scanned or any other player) , exclude the whole folder or the files.

You can also change the Real-time file system settings and make it not scan all kind of files with any extension but place the mp3 , mp4 , mpg , mpeg files as excluded extensions from being scanned
