    Hello,

I have just changed to the BAT e-mail program and I would like to know if NOD32 is scaning my incoming emails on the BAT e-mail program like it was on Outlook express.
If it can do this is it automotic or do I have to change settings to do it?
I have changed to BAT e_mail to reduce the risk of email worms, but would still like to have protection with NOD32. :)
I noticed on my Backup AV program AVG 7.0, that it has a "The Bat" setup for email, however i don't like to use AVG and NOD32 at the same time so if NOD32 can scan BAT e_mat it would be good. :)
the Bat email is located at: http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/

Thanks in advance for your advice

    manxaura,

As long as your email accounts are using port 110, IMON is set up to scan your email...

See this thread for more info....

Kent is right ;) NOD32 and The Bat! do work perfect as a combo - at least for some years on this system.

Good move. And yes: NOD32's IMON will protect your sysem at the winsock level even before The Bat jumps in.

    No problems to be expected.

    regards.

thank you Puff i will make sure of that right away, I guess the proof will be in the puding as I average three netsky.b per day just now. if Nod [icks the next one up and i get the red screen of capture i will know its working. if not I belive my change to Bat will mean that it will be less a problem anyhow. unles it can infect me via BAT and then jump to outlook / WAB and send out that way, who knows.

Thanks heap for that info i will act on it straight away

    Michael (manxaura) :-*

Thanks to Paul too great response time folks

Hi, I used to be a NAV-user, but since NAV 2004 is a real pain in the rectum area ;) I switched to NOD32 (trial) and I sent myself these Eicar files, is it correct that The Bat doesn't receive this mail at all (I don't see them coming in) and NOD32 catches them before I even have a chance of seeing that this email has arrived?

(And yes my emailadress was correct :D)

In none of the NOD32 log files it shows up.

And I'd like to know if there is progress for a plugin fot The Bat as I read this thread on the Ritlabs forum:

    http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/forum/read.php?FID=14&TID=418

    or is no plugin needed?

I get a little confused as I found one at: http://www.thebat.pl/index.php?artc=142 but does it work?

From Ritlabs no answer is to be expected o_O

    --------------

Btw: I like this forum a LOT!

Hello! and welcome to Wilders! ;)
If you aren't received your mail with eicar means that your ISP is using a antivirus that scan every message that you receive and send and for that they block any message infected.
No you don't need any plug-in. IMON is enought.
    Regards.

    Thanks a lot!

I forgot that I have a really good ISP :p.

I did send myself the Eicars at some other rarely used emailaccounts that do not run via my ISP-popboxes and NOD32 responded as it should. Well, better safe than sorry.

    I guess NOD32 has a new customer :D

    Kind regards from the Netherlands!
