Today, when I booted my laptop, I received the error message "Error initializing file system monitor" and the icon in the system tray is red. In the AMON window, the "file system monitor (AMON) enabled" box is greyed out. Under status it says "file system monitor not started". Disabling the FW did not make a difference.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this?

Dell Inspiron 4100, Win XP Home, NOD32 v2.7, Online Armor FW

    TIA,

    Paul

Well...I answered my own question so I will post what I did in case others have the same problem.

    1. Start/programs/Eset/uninstall
    2. Ran Regcure to clean the registry.
    3. My computer/C:/Program files/Eset folder/Install folder/Setup
(Have your username and password handy)

NOD32 was reinstalled and all seems well now.

    Cheers,

    Paul
