    NOD32 Stand Alone Scanner

Does anyone know anything about this version of NOD32?
    Is this like McAfee's Stinger?
What kind of a database does it have? Is it larger than 35-40 viruses?
Is there a link where I could try it?

    Thanks.

Don't know if this is the same case here but suspect it might be: I recall in the past pirate versions of NOD as a standalone scanner were distributed on a P2P related site. New versions of the updated scanner were posted for download since it could not be updated (not having the download module) and to get updates the entire pirated program had to be redownloaded and installed.

I suspect offerings of a stand alone on demand scanner, unless distributed by an authorized ESET site, may be such as I noted above, a chopped pirate version that cannot update itself.

Good point. Downloading anything from unknown sites is not a good practice.

    Jonathan,

Visit www.nod32.com web site and look under free cleaners section.

    Magadono,

Perhaps you should read copyright policies and please stop posting illegal downloads.

I won't post the link again but...

Perhaps you should review your understanding
of the term Illegal. As I stated, if you were to examine the file
with one of about 1000 tools intended for such analysis you would conclude that there was nothing that could be held in any court of the United States, EU or Canada for that matter, as Illegal or infringinging in regards to the Standalone scanner download available here; nor its implementation by any party. Educate yourself before you simply cowtow to the paranoia and fear that the DMCA has generated in you.If you enjoy the internet, your education is vital and I had thought that education was the purpose of forums
    such as this.

    Regards,

    Megadono
