I am running Windows Xp , and just tried to un install
Nod32 using the add / remove panel , also the un install
with the Nod32 application, and a separate uninstall
application ive downloaded, even tried to un install in
    safe mode .

all of the above methods did not work , all I got
was a warning pop up saying ..

    ( 114 ) Setup.xml file is damaged or missing

can some one please advise me on how I can
now un install Nod32 , after receiving the warning
    above ..?

    Many Thanks

Hi there, this error occurs when the NOD32 setup.xml file is damaged or missing, please reinstall a fresh copy of NOD32 over the existing copy, then uninstall and reinstall.

    Cheers :D

    Hi,

I am having the same problem, but following your instructions hasn't helped unfortunately, do you have any other suggestions I could try please?

I click on Uninstall in the ESET file and get this message:

'(114) Setup.xml file is damaged or missing'

When I try to install a fresh NOD32 I get this message:

'uninstallation of the previous version failed. Please uninstall it manually and run the installer again'

This is seriously driving me mad! Any ideas/suggestions would be most welcome! :)

    Thanks

Download the latest installer of the program from ESET's web-site www.eset.com/download (choose Home user , version 2.70.39)

Open the Control Panel -> Administrative Options -> Services
Find the NOD32 service , right click it , choose "Stop"
Right click the NOD32 service and choose "Properties" . From the drop-down list , make the service be Disabled.

    Confirm with OK.

Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the folder called ESET

Now , install NOD32 v2 using the latest installer of the program (install over the existing leftovers) and reboot .
