I'm attempting to install NOD32 on about 10 PC's total. I bought the package for 10 PC's and those machines that have Windows 2000 accept the push install perfectly fine with credentials. Any Windows XP PC's do not. I am in a Workgroup mode and not Domain.

I put in the local machine administrator username and password upon authentication but that does not seem to work.

Please advise if I am doing something wrong. The PC appears on my push list and I attempt the push install but the credentials regardless if it's a new account or an existing with correct password does not work.

Here is the error I keep getting

Could not setup IPC connection to target computer (SC error code 6, GLE error code 53)

The FAQ page says to do this but this doesn't seem to work? File sharing isn't enabled for me right now on any machine. None of these machines have a firewall actively either.

An Access Denied error occurs when performing a remote installation of NOD32 under Windows XP.

On Windows XP not being a member of a domain, Simple file sharing must be disabled in order to install NOD32 on them remotely.

    The procedure:

    * double-click the My computer icon on your desktop and select Properties
    * from the Tools menu select Folder options
    * on the View tab, untick the Use simple file sharing check-box

Are those machines running Windows XP Professional?

Some are a mix of Windows XP SP2 home and professional, none are 64 bit nor Media Center.

I just attempted the CurrentControlSet key set to 0 as defined in the instructions and made sure the services it was looking for were running and it still did not work.

I got it to install on Windows XP Pro machines with a registry key edit. On the Windows XP Home machines I am running into a problem...

Any firewalls on the Windows XP Home PCs are disabled.

Windows home edition does not support remote installation because it supports only simple file sharing.

This is what I do in such cases:

place the software into the software share, make an export of the config you use into a .XML configfile format and place that in the share too (or in a config share of course).

then I do a "pull" installation:
    START>EXECUTE> [sharepath]\NDNTENST.exe /cfg=[sharepath]\config.xml

You can add further options to that command line (see the manual)
    examples of extra options:
/silentmode --> no questions are asked during installation
/reboot --> PC automatically reboots after installation, so save files you are working on first ;-)

    Good luck

    Greetings from a cloudy Holland
