On the off chance, I thought I'd ask whether there's any online offers currently for NOD32. I bought the program back in 2006 and would like to use it again.

renewal is cheaper then first licence. Renew for 2 years it is better and cost less !!

I'm thinking of buying from here so I can then upgrade to version 5.

Any of the offers will do. You can upgrade with the ESS license too.

The ESET license policy is that if you have valid license you are free to upgrade to newer versions.

    imagine 4-5 licences for 2 years !! ;)

SveX is right, you dont need to buy a new licence, just renew for any Eset product.

good, you buy the best protection service, not the product.

No I didn't say that he should renew. Because as far as I know one can't renew a license that's so old as one from way back in 2006. :doubt: :)

What I said was that he can upgrade to Version 5 for FREE as long as he have a valid license, and both of the offers mentioned in this thread will do just fine.

But if he buys the NOD32 offer from Amazon he won't be able to use ESS with it,(I don't think he wants that though) but he can use NOD32 with the ESS license if he want to. ;)

we are all right but misunderstand each other

yes with a valid ESS licence he can download and install nod32 v3-4-5, instead of ESS, until the ESS licence ended. But cant do it in the another way, upgrade from NOD32 to ESS (much expensive)

when his ESS licence finished he can renew for another Eset product

is it right and much clear this way ??

i mean when you buy a license, you are authorized to use the protection services by ESET which are distributed via module updates, PCU or quering the cloud.
The installer can be obtained by different ways, such as the web, cd's etc

Yes that is correct. Therefore he can't renew since he stated that the last time he used NOD32 was back in 2006.
    No worries.
