the install went fine. BUT... It tells me that
    'Maximum Protection is not ensured'
'Your license has expired. this beta version has run out. Please download a newer version from www.eset.eu, or uninstall this product.'
the system tray icon is red. i only downloaded this version yesterday and installed today.
how can i fix this so as i can use the beta 2 aswello_O
    Any help would be great.

It doesn't include firewall , Eset Smart Security has a firewall.

Update the program and restart the computer after that . There was a problem like this before and ESET fixed it via the updates . It looks like you have never updated it

Can you install NOD32Beta2 just on the top of 2.70.39 version? If not, how can I preserve the old settings if I have to go back to the old one? Or would it be better to wait for nonbeta version?

No , you can't. It is different code/program.

As you like it . However , if you were planning to use EAV beta2 or ESS beta2 on a product machine , you'd better not just in case :thumb:

    LOL! Beta 1a ?

Such an old beta version is no longer supported . You must install the newest beta2 . Follow this procedure:

    Reinstall Eset Smart Security beta

    1. Download fresh new ESS from http://www.eset.eu/beta
    1. Uninstall your current version from Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
    2. Reboot the computer when prompted
    3. Delete manually these three folders:

    - C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application data\Eset
    - C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application data\Eset
    - C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Local Settings\Application data\Eset

    4. Install again ESS beta (better without internet connection) . Use Typical install and keep essbeta for username/password
