hello,I'm new here.I just got nod32 today, and would like to know which firewall most of you find works best with it.I don't know much about firewalls, but anything thats not a resource hog is a plus.

    Hi Seventh, welcome to Wilders.

I have personally used ZoneAlarm and Look 'n' Stop without an issue.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

Hello seventh :), I've used ZoneAlarm like Blackspear and another firewall called Outpost. A lot of people say its a good firewall, which it is in my opinion and the interface is great too... and it is light on resources from what I've heard. Personally, I use ZoneAlarm Pro. There is a free version available at www.zonealarm.com if your interested.

I use Outpost Pro and Nod32, I am trailing Outpost Pro and have 12 day left. Then I am going to buy outpost, it is lighter on resources than ZoneAlarm. But I have nothing against ZoneAlarm.

Tiny Firewall, Netveda, Outpost, LnS: they all worked without any problem with NOD. And Tiny was the one that stayed on my system. Low in resources and you hardly notice it is protecting your system :)

Just like NOD for that matter.

Kerio also seems to be working well with NOD.

Prefer a good NAT router myself, not a fan of software firewalls. But of the software firewalls I've setup, I like Outpost.

I use Tiny Firewall and don't have any problems with it.

What's nice about Personal firewalls it protects you from processes running on your computer. So, if you have a trojan on your computer most likely it a hardware firewall won't catch an outbound connection. Also, with software firewalls you get more updates than hardware. I would suggest both.

Id stay away from Zonealarm -- it corrupts files you download - especially rar files...

No known problems for me with Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5 and NOD32 2.50.9.
I recommend it if you prefer rule-based configuration.

No problems with ZoneAlarm and NOD32(beta or not). If the file is corrupted just redownload them. The files you download from the net are not always perfect...

No problems with Kerio PF4. Works very well with NOD and is extremely easy to set up and use.
