NOD 4.0 issues, How soon do they show up after installation?

On Tuesday 3/31 I update my NOD license and I also decided to try 3.0. Since my license had 0 days left I can't update my AV definitions files for about 24 hours. To avoid any problems, specially with conficker, I uninstalled 3.0 and installed a trial of NOD. The trial was for 4.0.314 not the current paid version which is 4.0417.

So far so good but it's only been on my PC since about 10pm last night. What issues is 4.0 experiencing? I've read about some issues slowing down the internet and about slowing down the PC. Are there any others I should be aware of?

My thoughts are the following. If 4.0 works on my PC with no issues, I'll skip 3.0 and go right to the latest paid version of 4.0 since my license is good for another year.
    Thanks.

Please can someone who's had issues with NOD 4.0 tell me how soon do the issues appear after installing 4.0. So far I'm good and I'm still running the trial of NOD 4.0. I installed NOD 4.0 on Tuesday 3/31 about 10pm.
I want to uninstall the trial and either install 3.0 or the current version of 4.0
    Thanks.

    if it works it works.

IT's kind of like being severely allergic to peanuts, you will know within 5 minutes.

    I had a smoother transition from v3 to v4 than from 4.0.314 to 4.0.417.

Well I would be going from a trial of 4.0.314 to a paid version of 4.0.417. I'll give it to the weekend and go from there.
    Thanks.

I've run 4.0.314 and 4.0.417 without issue so far. I started using 4.0.314 the day it was released and installed 4.0.417 about 9 AM today.

I uninstalled the trial of 4.0.314 on Friday and have been running the paid version of 4.0.417 with no issues so far, knocking on wood. :)

I smoothly installed .417 on top of .314. nothing wrong has happened ever since. I'm glad with v4 so far.

Does anyone think I can install v4 on top of v3.684, or must I go through the clean install?

I've remote-installed 68 copies of V4 over V3. One PC (Vista) had problems, but all the rest (4 Vista, 63 XP) went fine.

Most were 3.0.684 to 4.0.314, but a few have been 3.0.684 to 4.0.417

Were you using v3.0 before and do you notice any performance hits now?

Not sure if you are replying to TheHammer or to me. We noticed LOTS of slowdowns with V4, but all were resolved by disabling various aspects of V4 - such as disabling scanning of network drives, don't scan on open or create, etc.

I initially installed 3.0 on Tues 3/31 for about 4 hours only. My license for 2.7 had 0 days left at the time. Also I'm very familiar with NOD. I've been running NOD for the last three years starting with 2.5. Since it was going to take at least 24 hours for NOD to recognize my renewed license I could not update my definition files. My choice was to either wait it out with 3.0 running definition files from 10/08, Conficker expected the next day, or uninstall 3.0 and install an NOD trial.

I decided, based on advice given here, to install a trial of 4.0.314. Although I was not happy about having to install a trial of 4.0. No 3.0 trials available, otherwise I wouldn't of touched 4.0 from reading some of the threads on this forum. Look at some of my posts on this forum and you'll see I'm not kidding.

Anyway I used that version till Friday 4/3 and then since all was still working well I decided to forget 3.0 and go right to the latest version 4.0.417.

I can only compare 2.7 VS 4.0. I never update to 3.0 in the past except for a couple of hours only on 3/31.
On my PC which is a 5 year old 3.20Gz P4 with 3 GB's of ram running XP Pro SP3 I can honestly say I see no difference at all in my performance. My internet speeds are the same and I'm not having any other issues with any applications. Everything is working the same.
So far NOD is running extremely well, knocking on wood as I type.:)

Yes I was using V3 and don't notice any slowdowns or performance hits of any kind whatsoever with V4.
