Posted to alt.comp.anti-virus newsgroup somebody said the file in question "killed his harddrive". He posted the file to the group and I tested it with Nod32 v.2.5.7. It does not react to it but Kaspersky tells it is Trojan.Win32.KillFiles.hi. And testing it with www.jottiorg's several engines some others recognize it too, but not Nod32.

i don't know how "in the wild" this trojan is but it seems to exist somewhere if this guy got infected.

Send that unknown file in and let Eset have a look.

How can I send a virus sample to Eset?

To submit a suspicious file to Eset for analysis, please carry on as follows:

    * compress the file(s) into a zip or rar archive, protect it with the password "infected"
    * attach the archive to an email message
    * send the message with the attachment to samples@eset.com
