Hello, all. This is my first post, and I hope I'm in the right forum for my question. It's this:

When at home, my notebook is safely behind a router, and a GRC ShieldsUp says everything is cool. On the road, I use a Sprint Novatel S620 PCMCIA card. Pretty good bandwidth, lousy latency, but that's not the point.

The point is tonight my firewall caught an incoming ftp attempt, and the whois ended in Mexico. Last night, one that was in eastern Europe. ShieldsUP was nothing but red; everything was wide open.

To the question: would anyone recommend a program that will emulate the "nothing there" behavior of the router for this type of connection?

    Thanks in advance
