Hello, this is my first post here, but I am a long time nod32 user.

I was wondering if there are any plans to release a new version of the AV with new features etc (not necessarily version 3)?

I recently tried KIS6 and found it to be quite buggy, even with the stable releases. Is Eset planning on putting features into a version of nod, much like KIS6?

    Thanks.

    Why?
Do you feel present version is inadequate?newer isn't always better:- unless present version becomes ineffective why change it?

The attitude of a NOD32 user...

Some software needs to get visible updates to keep the interest of the audience :)

Depends if the audience is interested in aesthetics or performance I guess...
Some would put more weight to one while others to the alternate...

edit: Love your current avatar btw - been ages since I've seen the VeggieTales - they're great :D

Why change it? KIS6 scored a 99% on the proactive test done by av comparatives.

    Thats why.

but overall detection rate of Nod and Kav/Kis are very very similar, does it matter to the end user how an AV detects threats as long as it does?

behaviour based and on a limited number of samples - not in the usual proactive test.

No i think it was same no of samples but on access detection:-file was tried to run rather than normal scan, thats how I interpreted it anyway, but I could be wrong
But as I visited your home page and it took me to test site,I'll assume your right lol

I'm pretty sure IBK knows the correct details of all the AV-Comparative tests ;-)

Anyway this is getting pretty far off-topic - let's avoid that.

What sort of new features do you have in mind, bbplayer? Certainly not the buggy ones, I hope. ;)

My understanding is that there will be a "suite" version of NOD32 v3 that includes such features as a firewall and spam blocker. There will also remain a "standalone" antivirus version for those who do not want the extra features. There will also be some change in the way that viruses are detected.

As of now, the details remain within the walls of a dark, Slovakian castle. :ninja:

as people have said nod32 and kis and kav both provide alsmost the same protection but nod32 uses less resourse and more tweaking.

I might get nod32 very soon I have tryed it out on my old and its class.

When 3.0 is out, there may be promotions and discounts to celebrate the 3.0 launch. You may wait a bit...

No doubt nod32 is the best solution on the market. Will be nice to see what features they decide to put in v3.

    Cant wait!
