    Hello,

I was lucky enough to win a license for Drive Backup Pro in the recent Wilders giveaway. While not a computer noob, this will be my first venture with an imaging program, and if someone could answer a few questions I would be very grateful.

My setup is 2 internal 160GB HD's (no raid). One drive contains Vista SP2 x86 and a 10GB recovery partition, while the other is just used for Windows file backup.

1/ Can I use the WinPE disk to create and restore images without actually installing Drive Backup Pro?

2/ If so, will this method avoid DBP modifying the MBR?

3/ Probably a silly question this one, but best to be clear; Can the target drive for the image backups continue to be used for storing Windows file backups or will DBP require sole use of the drive?

    Regards,
    RD.

    1 - Yes.

2 - As far as I know, DB won't modify the MBR unless you use one of the options in the program (Update MBR, for example). This should be the same whether you're using the WinPE version or the installed Windows version.

3 - The target drive can still be used normally. It does not have to be dedicated to DB.
