The problem is they don't view your PC as being yours; you're just leasing its use from them. (My first post from under Mint, newly installed on my former Win10 tablet. )
They do view it that way. I'd use Edge more if they didn't want me to use it so badly. Congratulations on the Mint installation. If I retired or changed professions I would be looking to do the same.
this service is protected, even SC wont help you out. go registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\UCPD and set Entry "START" to "4", restart windows you cant do this in \CurrentControlSet\
Hmm... Here the command worked (CMD as Admin). Code: sc config UCPD start= disabled After that the value of Start was set to 4 in both CurrentControlSet and CurrentControlSet001. https://www.deskmodder.de/blog/2024...aendern-von-standardprogrammen-ueber-skripte/ A more in-depth analysis here.
i tried again after reboot, you are right. what not works: sc stop ucpd after reboot https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/debug/system-error-codes--1000-1299- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/debug/system-error-codes--0-499- when active exit code is 0
I have the pleasure of Windows Update not pestering me. I appreciate 24H2 26100.1 as a "still" build.
