I am currently running two hdds in a RAID array. Is it possible to do a back-up using TI, install a third hdd, create a new 3 drive RAID array, and restore the back-up onto the new RAID array?

I would say yes, just make sure your RAID array is supported by Acronis Rescue Boot CD, else you'll need to go to BartPE.

    Hello GreggC,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Yes, you will be able to perform this task with help of Acronis True Image.

Depending on the operating system you use you will need different version of Acronis True Image. Please have a look at this previous post of mine for more information about supported operating systems.

Please note that if you are going to replace the RAID controller as well, then it is recommended to use Acronis Universal Restore plug-in for Acronis True Image Corporate Product line.

    Thank you.
