    ¤ Installer, Ruleset: Changes: Full Windows File & Printer Sharing support, activate using ForceConfig.ini Networking flag.

    ¤ Installer, Ruleset: Changes: All of the Networking rules are configured up based on ForceConfig.ini Networking settings, regardless of ForceConfig.ini Networking flag set. You will loose custom changes to the currently installed P. ruleset file, that is why I recommend backing of the already existing P. ruleset file, or exporting rule changes, or additions.

    v1 Build: 008.8 [20-09-11]

    Changelog:

    ¤ Installer, ForceConfig.ini: Changes: This release includes support for multiple automatic rule importing and exclusions;

    - Possible to exclude any rule, and multiple rules in the set of rules
    - Possible to import a rule or rules from a Look 'n’ Stop importable rules file, and import several importable rules files.

    Excluding: Under the [Exclusions] INI section in the ForceConfig.ini there is a existing example, INI keys names begins with label Rule and ends with a number, Rule0= being a starter entry. Example below;

    [Exclusions]
    Rule0=-BOOTP / DHCP
    Rule1=<Rule name>
    Rule2=<another Rule name>
    Rule3=<yet another Rule name>

    Importing: Under [Imports] INI section in the ForceConfig.ini, starting from Rule0= we add INI keyvalue =<Importable rie file>:BEFORE:"<Rule name>" ...Example below;

    [Imports]
    Rule0=SecondLife.rie:AFTER:"-Stop UDP broadcasts"
    Rule1=TCPserverRie.rie:BEFORE:"-TCP: Block Incoming connections"
    Rule2=TCPClientRie.rie:AFTER:"-TCP: Block Incoming connections"

    The importable rie files must be placed in ‘Imports’ subfolder, BEFORE and AFTER positions must always be all uppercase.

    If we have a existing importable rules file that contains both server and client rules combined, we need to separate all the client rules from server rules and have two separate importable rules file.

    - Active-FTP.rie available on ‘Stateful filtering of Active-FTP.’ topic in MntOlympus 'Importable Games & Applications Rules’ forum ... http://www.mntolympus.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=7504

    1) Import Active-FTP.rie file with Look ‘n’ Stop ‘Import’ button found on Look ‘n’ Stop ‘Internet Filtering’ Tab / screen.

    2) Using now the Look ‘n’ Stop ‘Export’ feature, we select and export to P. Ruleset subfolder named 'Imports’ with target filename like SPF ftp-control (request).rie, only the client rules belonging to a application or game (or we can group several applications and/or games client-based rules), in this case there is only one FTP client-based rule to be exported.

    3) Visit the Look ‘n’ Stop ‘Export’ feature again and now select all the server-based rules, in this case there is only one FTP server-based rule to be exported to P. Ruleset subfolder named 'Imports’ and save with target filename like SPF ftp-data (response).rie.

    4) Edit ForceConfig.ini file, under Imports INI section continue where you last left off, so if your last INI keyname entry was Rule4= we create a new line for the client-based importable rules file and label it Rule5= and add the parameters, and on the next line for the server-based importable rules file and we add Rule6= and the parameters.

    Example;

    [Imports]
    Rule0=...
    Rule1=...
    Rule2=...
    Rule3=...
    Rule4=...
    Rule5=SPF ftp-control (request).rie:BEFORE:"-TCP: Block Incoming connections"
    Rule6=SPF ftp-data (response).rie:AFTER:"-TCP: Block Incoming connections"

    I just logged in to report how happy I'm with 008.7 :) Big thanks to Phantom!
    But then I see 008.8 is here.
    Unfortunately I do not understand one thing in the above post or why would I need those exclusion things :(
    maybe I do understand something about exclude multiple rules ... yikes, this firewall is difficult.

    Thanks act8192.

    One of the reasons to support exclusions, there is a limited few for non-mandatory rules .. like the ‘µTorrent’ example rule, not everyone has uTorrent or BitTorrent installed, this example rule though isn’t allowing until the uTorrent application is launched and authorized with Look ‘n’ Stop - Application filtering. There’s ‘WiFi WPA: Auth.’ that exists, whether its enabled or not depends on your setup detected, but if you using P. ruleset on a desktop PC and is wired, then the option to have this rule removed from the set of rules exists.

    Hello,

    I apologize for my bad English.

    I love this new version 8.8 and the opportunities we can exclude or add rules from the export file. With very little effort, it greatly facilitates updates.
    The imported rules are in right place the first time, whereas before it was exported and click countless times to put them in the right place.

    Under the heading "Users always want more", I would like :
    - As for the possibilities of Importing or Excluding, new possibilities to Validate or Devalidate an existing rule.
    I add my own rules in order to work in IPv6 and I would like the rule "-Ipv6" can be automatically disabled.

    Many thanks Phant0m :thumb:

    No need to apologize you are perfectly clear, besides, if you apologizing, I’ll have to start apologizing too!

    Very interesting and a joy to read, your feedback I mean.

    Suggestion is reasonable, so be looking for the addition in a near future update.

    Thank you.
