did you ever try the older 8.5 versions and did you like those?
why do you hate version 9?
to me it looks great. combining the execellent paragon imaging with file backup as well. also adding incremental images support.

will tell u why coz it to not user friendly compare to other products (like ati ,sp,....) .

hard to get menage over there , and ati in this case doing a easy and clear job compare to this

they have some nice add on in ver 9 like exlude files from backup ( like in atio ages ago) and some other usefull tags which wasnt in ver 8

it is user friendly mostly, just click on a simple task like backup on the left hand panel and follow the wizard. to backup c: tick c:, step 2 is location i think, then confirming. i have get so used to backing up and restoring with it its just like opening a word document. sure on the first step of wizard having the option to backup first hard drive track may be confusing but since all most all users have one drive and one partiton and would backup to an external drive you just tick the box that backups the whole hard drive.

This sounds like a killer feature, one reason why I like SP so much

"NEW!Paragon's powerful new Professional Adaptive Restore™ technology allows you to restore operating systems and data on any type of hardware or even to a virtual machine"

Is the upgrade price from 8.5 to 9 on the site yet?

Even if other tools have the same feature, doesn't do any harm to have competition and alternatives! I use SP weekly but I'm interested to see if DB9 adds anything to the mix.

Vista 64 supported. That's great. I am going to give it a try as soon as the downloadlink for the 64 bit version is working.

It will probably be a free upgrade. I think it will appear in your account after a few days. had the same thing with partition manager.

Thanks, I hope so :) If not, well I did get my "Stimulus" check yesterday, lol.

Paragon Drive Backup is the only thing I am missing from upgrading to x64 a few weeks ago. When I get it installed the universe will be right again :D

    be careful people.
im normal the first person to say how reliable paragon is. paragon 8.5 programs have worked flawlessly on my machines.
i done a file backup of my 40gb data on F: it took 4 hours and 15minutes. ye slow. gonna report that.
but the main problem was that when i to restore C: it asked me to reboot like normal. it half restarted the windows bar showed and then rebooted. after that it was just blue screen, windows did not start normaly,ok blue screen. so be careful. i will report this to paragon tomorrow. every software has its bugs. thats why its always best to wait a while for the bugs to be ironed out even after release.

The GUI is improved IMO, not so overwhelming as in the past, more simple and clear. Of course you have to get used to it, but I had to get used to ShadowProtect's GUI also. :)

Re: NEW :paragon Drive Backup 9 Personal/pro is out

i agree, the size of the folder is 100mb rather than 50mb of the older version.
kinda like the idea of the file backup but the standard big restore button restores all the files, default setting is keep the current files thou.
can restore indivitial files. as i said above thou very slow.
imaging is faster. 13.6gb in 6minutes compared to 9 minutes with image for windows and around 15minutes with paragon 8.5
SP is still the fastest thou.
once the bugs are ironed out it will once again be a very good product like the 8.5 version is.

Important for Vista users, paragon supports restoring and backing of Vista partitioned drives, and does NOT change the 2048 offset which it did in previous versions and which ATI still does (it in actually repartitions the drive upon first restore to the 63 offset) this is a huge plus for me.

:p The way things have been going for me lately, I will take it any way I can :D

lodore, caution noted. Are you running 32 or 64 bit?

I submitted a support request stating my circumstances in hope they will waive that one month free upgrade. Now the ball is in their court.
