    Hi all
My brother is having the following problems:
Google returns to google when he tries a search.
Most typed addresses return a "unable to open page"(including spyware blaster).
A casino pop-up, even offline and in any programs including games.
I was going to try and do a IE repair, but can`t see it in add/remove software?

I have attached a logfile in which you will see, His has been well hijacked by
"searchmeup", but I am not informed enough to detect anything else.
    Please help.

    Hi tomijon,

Please pay attention to this part:
After removing the files you have to uncheck the proxy to get your internet connection back.
Check if you can find where to do that in IE > Tools > Internet-options > Connections > LAN settings > Always use proxy..
Don't do it now but after rebooting and removing files. You will loose your connection if you don't follow the instructions precisely.

Before you start, please move hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
I'm not sure you want all those on your desktop.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\runwin32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\wininet32.exe

    Then uncheck the proxy setting.

    Regards,

    Pieter
