My Firefox version 56 32-bit was auto converted to version 56.0.1 64-bit (22.5 MB) successfully.

That's what I'm seeing so far, yet since I'm also running Fx 57beta portable in 64-bit, I knew what to expect. ;)

I just updated to version 56.0.1 32 bits. Did it over the top to make sure my installation would not get migrated to 64 bits. It was successful. :)

Krusty, it's the usual 25% initial update rate, followed in a day or two with an enabled 100% update rate, as in the past.

I wonder if FF 56.0 64-bit users will even receive 56.0.1. It seems the main change is to upgrade 32-bit users to the 64-bit version, or am I missing something?

I believe everyone will receive 56.0.1... in time. ;) At a 1% update rate, even for 32-bit users, it's going to be slow going for awhile. :isay:

The Release Notes shows a fix for Intel drivers for Win7, and that might push the update rate for 64-bit users... maybe. :)

There are 64 bit standalone installers for 56.0.1 - see here:

    https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.1/win64/en-US/

    1st: ftp.mozilla.org do NOT exist - it is archive.mozilla.org

2nd: 56.0.1 is available here in 32/64 bit
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

the staged roleout is for reason to see how it is performing.
gorhill is doing same with ublock.

    grow up!

"https://ftp.mozilla.org" and "https://archive.mozilla.org/" both resolve properly to the archive server.

In answer to Krusty's question I referenced the archive server simply because it confirms at a glance that 64 bit 56.0.1 installers exist which likely means all versions of Firefox will eventually be updated to that version. I understand the purpose of the staged role out, thanks.

just a heads up go into privacy and security, scroll down and untick both: allow firefox to auto send tech data allow firefox to install and run studies. see my thread safe browsing version 4(temp add-on). you do not want this. cannot play vids from dark side or who knows from where else.

jr didn"t mean to sound like i was directing this to you, just trying to make a general observation. i never paid any attention to these settings and now i'm paying the price. i don't like that firefox doesn't give you a way to opt out of this. maybe disable all thier protections? is this whats coming inff57? thanks for your help .
