The newest version is still messing with default font settings.

Yes! This time it didn't go through the add-ons check.

Everytime a new Firefox version is released, the changelog looks more like a bugfix release.

Pretty much what I expect. You are going to make a lot of feature enhancements with a 6 week release cycle, and if you do, they will be broken because that isn't long enough to finish them correctly.

We know you meant not going to make a lot of feature enhancements :). I think we all got used to seeing significant new features based on the previous very long release cycle when a new browser version was a big deal; It can be hard to recalibrate. Bug fixes aren't sexy, but I appreciate them, especially when they improve security.

Cipherfox was broken with v33, but 3.8.1 is just released and works with 33 :)

I got rid of the plugin (OpenH264) that came with Firefox 33. In case anyone would like to do the same, in about:config: Change the value to False, "media.gmp-gmpopenh264.provider.enabled"

Hmm, with other plugins you can set them to Always activate, Never activate or Ask, but there is no Ask option for the Cisco OpenH264 plugin.

"Ask" exists in Nightly and Aurora builds, greyed out (inactive) still.

Something else that bothers me about the plugin is that it installed on its own. After upgrading Firefox and restarting the browser, thats when the plugin got installed. And, I think, I read that the plugin updates directly from Cisco, on its own. That kind of bothers me. And last, as far as I know, I have no use for it. I don't see a good reason for me to keep it.

Can you say more about why you feel this is a problem?

Maybe what you quoted is not a problem but I prefer to update when I want to do it. I don't upgrade nothing automatically. Besides, automatically upgrading a plugin is not the way to do it when you are always running sandboxed.

But the main reason for me to take the plugin off is because I have no use for it. It makes no sense to me to carry a browser plugin that I am not going to use at all. If in the future there is a reason for me to put it back, then I ll enable it back.

All good points. I also prefer manual updating, sometimes because a little caution is a good thing and also because I like to witness the process and make sure I don't miss something important. I had a quick look at the H264 plugin and although there isn't an option to uninstall it it can be disabled. I'll be interested to learn how you remove it.
