If a new firefox-release breaks some websites, this addon can mitigate this.
If i look in the webcompat@mozilla.org.xpi-file i see this:
It just provides fixes for a better compatibility with websites, or something like that :cautious:

FF as usual blocks users from making their own decision about accessing a website.

Hmm, hasn't Firefox improved a bit since v. 49.01, especially w/memory handling? No slowdowns here, just the opposite. If anything, the browser is getting more complicated so I basically leave it alone. No frou-frou. If websites have certificate issues, it's on them. Look at Yahoo.

Has anyone managed to install Firefox 49.0.1 on XP?. The last version that worked for me was 48.0.2 and I end up with a very strange error after 49 is installed - The application failed to initialize properly (0xC0000005). The interesting thing is that I get this error with every file I try to view in the Firefox root directory.:( I can delete the directory without problems. If I go back to 48.0.2 everything is okay. in my case, all the installers from 49 onward give me this problem.

Edit: Nevermind, this problem is being caused by my version (v452) of HitmanPro.Alert. After uninstalling HMPA, 49.0.1 installs without problems.

The beta 565 HMPA also causes this.

Does anybody know how to disable "unified complete" via about:config without installing an addon?
"browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete" seems to have been removed from "about:config".

    What is "MyBrowserAddOn.com"?

After updating to FF 49.0.2 on every restart at he bottom of my screen there is a white bar that says:

"MyBrowserAddOn.com uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website"

It also downloads a bunch of files'

    What is this?

I looked at it's Privacy Policy and it's scary as all hell.

    http://mybrowseraddon.com/privacy.html

    Anyone else see this?

W.O.T. gives it an excellent rating as it is a recognized Open Source tool. But this is the first I have seen it and the privacy policy seems to say that while it does not collect "personally identifiable info." it does collect and share info.

I assume it's related to one of my addons, but I don't know which one--I have never seen it before.

I don't know it's location. Have scanned with EMIS 12, HMP, and Watchdog (Zemana) Anti-Malware and nothing shows up.

Not present in my 49.0.2 version.

    1. Check about:support to see if it's listed under Extensions.
    2. Check about:plugins to see if it's listed there.

MyBrowserAddon is a community for open-source projects, and maybe you have something installed from there?

    Thanks JRV :)

Yeah I figured that after some digging, but the fact I have never seen it before I found unnerving, particulalry after reading it's privacy policy.

I corrected my original post to read what the pop-up bar states:

"MyBrowserAddOn.com uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website."

I was particularly concerned because recently many have been tricked into downloading a FF Update from what turned out to be a scam site that infects PCs with The Trojan.Kotver family.

Thank you for the notification. One thing that appeared to go away with update was the annoying "busy" loading circle on the body of the browser when you first launch it. Browser seems zippy, as usual. :)
