    OK, there is this note:
So there may be the potential for abuse since the heuristics are a transitional or temporary feature until Mozilla devs come up with a better system.

Ah thanks, it is good to hear they're only temporary.

did you already mention that this behavior must explicitly confirmed by user?

and user is currently able to disable this heuristic, all informations:

parts of it explained in german

(to notice: there never existed a "super cookie", its a name given from the yellow press with no technical background)

I can't log into my bank with Firefox anymore. It gives an error and says to contact customer service. Edge works fine. I'm running out of reasons to even keep it installed.

Have you tried to click the shield in the address bar (next to the padlock) and set Enhanced Tracking Protection to OFF for your bank site?

No, it worked fine until the last couple of days. I may look into that later. Thanks for the suggestion. That said as this is a major bank (that I won't name for my own security reasons) it should work without having to do that. If the general public starts having issues like this they will just use something else. Mozilla is playing a dangerous game with market share if stuff like this keeps happening.

    Hello @xxJackxx and @Trooper:

1.) Are both of you updated to Firefox's version 102.0 on a Windows-based system?

2.) What happens if you try to log in after first setting Firefox's "Troubleshoot Mode..."?

3.) If not confidential, what are your detailed error messages during the log-in attempts?

4.) Clear Firefox cache, cookies, and site data.

Someone should be able to help...

Its not Firefox's developers responsibility to make Firefox compatible with each and every website, it would be an impossible task in any case, the responsibility lies with the website's developers/maintainers to make their website compatible with Firefox.

Unfortunately, just like in early 2000's when most websites were developed to run best on IE, because of its market share, nowadays, majority of them are designed to work with Chrome or Chromium based browsers. Rest of the browsers just take a back seat. The banks IT department probably does not get a lot of traffic from Firefox to make it a priority. And so such issues are bound to come up after an update. They will eventually fix the issue but it may take some time depending on the priority.

This is why I usually have auto updates disabled on Firefox. I manually update to give all websites enough time to fix any compatibility issues.

In the meantime as others have suggested, try disabling the enhanced tracking protection for the bank's website, also try and choose the option to forget the bank's website to clear all settings and cache, disable any ad blockers or tracking blockers for the website. If these steps do not fix the issue, I would just wait until the bank's IT department resolves the issue on their end.

It is an unfortunate situation but if you want to use Firefox, you will have to deal with such issues, as Firefox just does not have the market share to command respect.

    Additionally:
In your Firefox settings, is Enhanced Tracking Protection in Standard mode, or did you set Strict or a Custom setting?
With Strict or a Custom setting, this notice is shown, including a link how to resolve the issue:
    "Heads up!
This setting may cause some websites to not display content or work correctly. If a site seems broken, you may want to turn off tracking protection for that site to load all content. Learn how"

Finally has a minute to look at this. I have made no custom settings. I turned off the Tracking Protection for the site and it still gives the same error. Edge still works fine.

    Thanks for reporting back.
Too bad it wasn't simply the Enhanced Tracking Protection that was the problem.
