PatchMyPC is suggesting I update to FF 93.0, but as far as I'm aware that version hasn't been released yet, right?

just another might-be-********* for no reason. opt it out and get down. if you enabled search suggestions from any search engine those strokes are also send to it - google, bing, ddg and all other. guess who cares more of your types, mozilla or google, bing, etc!? your privacy is more concerned from mozilla as you think. and in case of sensible data dont use it, firefox has all such switches, chrome and similar have not (think about edge!).

Yeah, that How-To Geek article is FUD.
    See also:

I've sent a mail to the author in the hope he will correct things...
    See:

This is not the first time I've read false information from this guy (can't find a link to that now).

Well, I'm leaving Firefox Contextual Suggestions enabled--for now. I used to donate to Mozilla but things being what they are, Moz can use whatever it can glean for the time being. I personally do not care. I know this setting is there; it's my choice.

When I feel like it, I'll disable this "feature" and throw a couple of dollars at Pay Pal again. Strange, never thought I'd be posting something like this, that's so opposite of what many around here probably feel.

Edit: good, nicolaasjan, good for you. Someone taking action against and standing up for a belief, that's not a frequent thing.

Personally I'm not already sending my keystrokes to a search engine already, as I have disabled search suggestions.

Yes, the Mozilla blog stating Suggest is opt-in is back from September. In v93, Suggest is enabled by default(Though still USA only for now.)

    Good to read, thanks.
Location data is not mentioned though:
"Search strings and matching keywords are not included in related telemetry."

Hopefully if it rolls out in my part of the world it can be disabled. It's not a 'feature' I want or need.
