    With css overrides from Aris-t2 (author of the now gone "Classic Theme Restorer"), you can make Firefox look more comfortable.

    I appreciate this behavior, read too many people missing files they have opened (in most cases PDF or ZIP). wth - those temporary downloads are totally nonsense.

    It does seem like a good idea. The temp thing caused a lot of confusion.

    I understand rational for the change, but personally I'd rather older behavior to stay the same. I hope they will provide a switch in about:config or preferences page.
    Viewers and editors I use have "save as" and/or "save copy" options in the menu, so even if I change my mind and would like to preserve file I can still do it without searching in obscure, hidden directories. On the other hand I have too many unnecessary pdf files in Downloads directory already...
