    This is a usability vs security trade-off and hence a personal choice of any advanced user. No advanced user will make decisions by reading polls. ;)
    As for Ghacks user.js, it's a very useful guide but not the Bible. :)

    BTW, I have WebWorkers enabled but most of the time JavaScript disabled.
