    After I run the registry cleaner, as well as another registry cleaner, and reboot my system my wallpaper is no longer there and is just dark gray. My screensaver changes back to the default XP one as well. I don't know if this has anything to do with CC (cleaner ore registry because I run them both at the same time) or other products) I mention it here because I have narrowed the problem down to either CC, RegHeal, and/or TweakI. Does anyone know any setting that could allow this to happen, or megistry keys that are being deleted by mistake? If anyone can help me that would be appreciated because this problem is very annoying.

    Check if you still have the file C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles
    If you don't follow the instructions of jboz24 here:
    http://castlecops.com/postp532185.html

    If you do have that file copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as gimmeXPback.reg

    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ThemeManager]
    "ThemeActive"="1"
    "DllName"=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,\
    74,00,25,00,5c,00,72,00,65,00,73,00,6f,00,75,00,72,00,63,00,65,00,73,00,5c,\
    00,54,00,68,00,65,00,6d,00,65,00,73,00,5c,00,6c,00,75,00,6e,00,61,00,5c,00,\
    6c,00,75,00,6e,00,61,00,2e,00,6d,00,73,00,73,00,74,00,79,00,6c,00,65,00,73,\
    00,00,00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "ForceClassicControlPanel"=dword:00000000

    Doubleclick that file and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    I should have mentioned before that I use a custom visual style and not the default one because it reset everything. Regardless, it didn't work. My wallpaper and screensaver were still replaced. Any mor ideas?

    In that case I don't think you need to go through the registry to get them back the way you want.
    Rightclick the desktop and under Properties you should be able to change everything back to the way it was, unless ofcourse the files were deleted without backups.

    Regards,

    Pieter
