My laptop has several viruses and spyware. I have tried MS Antispyware, Symantec, Spybot and Ad - Aware but the problem keeps coming back. Using the MS Antispyware I get the following iSearch. Toolbar Trojan.Unclassified.contextmenuhandler.A Vx2. Narrator (toolbar)Possible Browser Hijack Possible Host File Hijack Download:Trojan Also talked with the MS support team....could not help . Would appreciate any help to clean the system. Thanks Rakesh
Hi Rakesh! Namaste! It seems something is installing the iSearch toolbar on your PC again and again. It could also be that it has already been installed and keeps coming back as iSearch tries to repair itself every time you delete it. Try searching for iSearch in you Add/Remove Programs list and removing it. Regards, Firecat
HI - I have moved your thread over to a more appropriate forum where it will get more attention. I'll also add that Firecat's suggestion is well worth trying. If that doesn't solve your problem, let us know
There seems to be lots of info, here is the Google on "iSearch. Toolbar" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=iSearch. Toolbar&btnG=Google Search Here is a link for Isearch Toolbar removal: http://toolbar.isearch.com/uninstall/ Here are Symantec's instructions: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/spyware.isearch.html
Hi I had the same problem. Turns out there was a program ISTSVC installed on my computer. I could see it in my add/remove programs in the Control panel. This was causing the Isearch to keep coming back. So see if you have this installed en remove it. It will give you some crap warning that this program is necessary for some other software to run but that is a lie. Hope this helps!
